Our Story
Born and Raised on the Cape
Cape Haven Home Watch was founded by Steve and Emily Chapman, a Harwich couple with deep roots in Barnstable County. Like a lot of people here, they watched friends and neighbors head off-Cape for the winter — only to come back in the spring to burst pipes, mold behind the walls, pest damage in the kitchen, or a roof that had been quietly failing for months. Problems that a single walk-through, at the right moment, would have caught.
Word spread the way it does on the Cape — neighbor to neighbor, over coffee at the general store, at the boat launch. People were looking for someone they could actually trust with a key to their home. Not a national franchise, not an app, not a stranger from a directory. Someone local, someone accountable, someone who'd pick up the phone. That's what Cape Haven set out to be. We serve homeowners from Sandwich to Provincetown, and we take pride in answering our own phone.
Steve brings more than two decades of hands-on experience in residential land construction and water department operations across Barnstable County — he knows these homes, the way they're built, and exactly what Cape Cod weather can do to them. Emily's background in client services means every interaction is handled with care, clarity, and follow-through. Together, they built Cape Haven around one simple belief: every home deserves to be looked after like it's your own.
